Youth Crime Prevention

Devon’s youth crime prevention projects have been developed over the last four years by a combination of funding through the Children’s Fund, Youth Justice Board Prevention Grant, and Safer Devon Partnership funding.

The County Youth Crime Prevention group have overseen the projects and reports to both the Safer Devon Partnership and Devon Children’s Trust.

In 2007, the Devon Youth Crime Prevention Strategy, ‘Children First’, was developed through substantial multi-agency work.  This aims to provide an overall understanding for the various projects and services that have been developed.

The introduction of Integrated Youth Support Services (IYSS) in Devon is providing the next series of challenges and opportunities for Devon Youth Offending Service (YOS) and its partners.
